T. Slack Environmental Services provides installations of below and Aboveground Fuel storage tanks. The sizes range from 275 Gallon to 20,000 Gallon in both below and aboveground storage tanks.

Some of the Different types of Tanks available are Single and Double wall steel, Fiberglass tanks and Fiberglass coated steel tanks. Other types of tanks are Diked Steel Tanks and Concrete Encased tanks. New Tanks come with 20 or 30 year warranties and if required are provided with monitoring systems for leak protection and inventory control.

New UST's cannot be compared to the older UST's of the past. In the past single wall steel tanks were used and had 20 to 30 year life span. Today we are using Double Wall steel or Fiberglass UST's now with dual protection. If the inner lining of the UST leaks it can go into a space between the inner lining and the outer lining known as the interstitial space. At this point an alarm will sound to indicate a possible leak. This helps prevent serious soil or groundwater contamination.

In addition we install (5) gallon overspills for the purposes of an accidental overfilling by a fuel supplier. If there is an overspill it no longer runs over onto the ground. Instead it goes into the overspill area were it is collected and is slowly brought back down into the tank. Again preventing contaminating the area around the fill cap area.

A high level alarm is installed to inform the UST owner if there is a low level of fuel. This allows the tank owner to call for an accurate fuel delivery.

Monitoring systems are also installed on both UST's and AST's, with sump probes pipe probes to alert for leaks An Aboveground tank has the advantage of being easily inspected and maintained. New underground tanks are usually selected when space is a consideration or when local codes requirement will not permit an aboveground installation. Aboveground Storage Tanks are not regulated by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Agency. There are no insurance requirements necessary and they are easy maintenance.

TSES can evaluate the individual situation, design and install the most cost effective installation that conforms to local, state and your personal requirements.
